High, Erratic Ping Since Patch 8.6

My ping used to be around 70. Ever since 8.6, it fluctuates from 80 up to 100+...something needs to be done about this. I just can't react quickly enough. In fact, this makes me wonder how much of a disadvantage I'm already at with 70 ping. Yikes.

I'm not the only one. Seems lots of other people talking about this. I've ran tracerts and other tests showing this problem is only occurring in League of Legends.

Same here. It used to be very stable except for the occasional lag spike, but ever since 8.6 it's been fluctuating almost constantly. The controls seem heavier and less responsive than you'd expect from the numbers you see, too. It'll fluctuate between 40 and 60 but it plays like it's 100 or 110. Been wondering what's up with that.

My ping hasn't been fluctuating as drastically as you two say you've been experiencing, but I have noticed a difference in ping. This may be minor and not too noticeable, but it's still a change coming into this patch. This DOES NOT happen on PBE, I've checked. Previous to this patch, my ping would ride about 18-24. That's pretty low, I really appreciate my low ping. Now in 8.6, I can't get my ping to sit still. It fluctuates between 26-50, it refuses to stay in one spot the entire time I play the game. It will not stay the same ping or within 1-2 of that original number for more than 5 seconds. I've never had this problem until this patch. Nothing has changed on my system.

With the recent patch league started asking permission for network access, as others have mentioned either the routing was changed or voice is causing fluctuates in league. I haven't been able to play a game because the random spikes might end up being too problematic to play around.

Same as well; I can't even attempt to play a bot game due to the erratic ping during each game. It seems like everyone is experiencing different intensities of the erratic ping; my normal ping of around 40 shot up to 2,000. It would never go below 1,500.

Having a similar issue. Normally around 19-22 ms ping and 60+ FPS. FPS and ping are erratic , and game gets choppy when the avatar responds to mouse movements.

ETA: To clarify, this issue started upon first logging in today (3/26).

Same. Mine was rock steady up until the recent patch. It's likely due to voice chat.. putting more demands on Riots server?

Yeah. I'm just done until this is fixed. This shit is unplayable.

Also, some guy on my team just had his game crash 30 times before reconnecting him, and for some reason the game wouldn't let us remake before he had connected.

I noticed they performed some network maintenance this morning, but I guess it must be ongoing because the problems are still here.

It seems to have been resolved for me. If it's just me, maybe this indicates the problem lies with ISP routing and not Riot.

It also looks to be resolved for multiple Twitch streamers I follow.

Same with me, my ping was at a smooth 28-35 at all times, now i get high ping spikes and have a constant 60-70 ping after this patch. Rito what did you do...
