Relaunching league game

So, for the past few months, I have been getting this issue where the league game (not client) doesn't load, so then when I close the tab, it automatically takes me back to the client like nothing happened when the game is still going on. This forces me to close the client and open it again. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but it bothers me alot. Any thoughts on this or does this happen to anyone else?
