Volibear tossing Kassadin after Ultimate

I recently played a game as Volibear against a Kassadin. Twice I was able to "toss" him after he had visually ulted away. He ulted and was away from my champ and Volibear still made the visual of using his toss and Kassadin traveled the normal distance as if I was there to throw him. He did not land behind me but this still allowed me to catch him.

To recreate this event simply have a Volibear chase a Kassadin and have Kassadin Ult right before Volibear catches him with Q.

Thanks,

SirOrange

Not a bug, it is an intended effect.

Auto attacks are coded so that if you get past the "wind up" period, the attack is guaranteed to hit, no matter what Kalista. This is to avoid dumb cases like never being able to auto attack if your opponent is just barely faster than you and running away, or that you can not cancel auto attacks simply by flashing away. This even applies on delayed flashes, like Ezreal E and Kassadin R.

Once an auto attack animation has started, the attack will land as long as you finish the animation (unless you're this cancer Kalista and you lose vision). It can lead to some ridiculous stuff. Usually you just see people flash away from ranged champs while they're winding up and then they get hit anyway and look silly, but it can happen with anyone. You can flash away from naut and he'll still root you if he started swinging. So this is actually working exactly as intended, it just looks funny.
