Game Crash at Champion Select

In the course of the last day, a friend and I have both experienced mysterious crashing upon loading into Champion Select. This has cost us about 20 minutes of our time, 15 trying to get the normals lobby together again in his case, 5 waiting through a timer in my case, as well as a decent chunk, I think 12, LP in ranked for me from a forced Queue dodge. The issue happened immediately upon entering champion selection, and neither of us have a history of hard-crashes with our games. If this bug, leading to a crash, happens again I will update with a screenshot, but for now I can tell you I got a standard windows "Not Responding" crash handling, which immediately asked me if I wanted to handle it by 'waiting' or by shutting down the program. I tried to wait for nearly 30 seconds before acknowledging that the issue wasn't going to resolve itself on my end. For my friend, he waited (in the same room as me, so this is a firsthand account) no less than 4 minutes before closing out of queue.

I would appreciate it if I could get some clarification on what it causing this issue, as it's not a problem on our ends, we're 100% sure. This is a problem with the game client, a bug that's just shown up. Thank you for your time.

I'm getting the same thing, something about directx and drivers may need to be updated? but apparently it seems as if they're not really focusing on our bugs, and i'm getting them in ranked games

i've been having a similar issue, except mine doesn't crash completely. It just gives me a black screen. I can still message whoever I was playing with and when champ select is over it gives me LeaverBuster time. It's really frustrating as it's not just me who has to wait, my friends do too. Please look into this.
