random blinds?

i was playing as sion and the other team had no blinds. they had a shen and when he taunted me after death it was as if i was blinded. i hit him five times in a row once to no avail. none of his hp was reduced whatsoever. didnt show damage or that it missed either. i only think it was shens taunt that does it, i could be wrong.
