Queues

I'm assuming it has to do with the season beginning, but I've been getting placed in games with people in gold, plat, and diamond. Me being silver I'm obviously not that good, but that results in me being flamed by my team and what not. This is obviously something i would really like to avoid of course, so i was hoping I could get an answer as to why this is happening other than the the season restarting.
