Akali smoke and moving through terrain

I couldn't find any other discussion about this in the search so I decided to post.

The Akali in my last game was using Smoke Bomb to move through terrain by placing the cloud over the terrain.

The first case was in the bottom side Krugs pit, using it in the pit while the Krugs were spawned, she placed the smoke cloud across the rock wall. I did not have vision of her at that point, but she walked out of the cloud on the other side of the pit. This was perhaps 20 seconds after she used her flash to cross another wall.

The second case was the bottom side blue buff. She started on the right side, placed the cloud so it was crossing the rockwall and included the spawned blue buff. She walked into the cloud and out the other side.

I'm not always super up to date on champion changes, but I didn't read moving through terrain as part of the ability description in the launcher.

She was equipped with Hextech Gunblade, Rylais Scepter, and boots at the time. If the interaction was intended, please let me know and disregard.
