matchmaking mess up in team builder

so, in my last match, me and 4 other silvers ended up against 2 platinum's and 3 smurfs... they were all grouped together, but its really frustrating to get stomped so hard in all aspects, ffs i broke even in my lane for the first 10 minutes before 8/2/0 riven came from top lane to pay us a visit..... is their nothing riot can do about this shit?
