Garen Q won't attack nexus

I was just in a game as Garen as I was trying to finish the game I Q'd to get some extra damage on the nexus since I was the only one alive. Garen literally stood there and waited for himself to die. Later when I actually finished it I Q'd to get to the nexus and he wouldnt aa the nexus until after the Q ran out
