I Load Into the Game Blind and Broke

Obviously the servers are having some issues today, but I had the strangest bug. As normal for today, I had to reset the game loader per today's bug message, but once I got on the Rift, I wasn't there. I could see the Rift but it was 100% fog of war, and I had 0 gold. I left and came back & it was fine afterwards, but how weird was that?

I'm running the new client on a Mac over WiFi (I know), and I've had to reload the game every time today that hasn't been the first game I played after starting LoL from scratch.
