REMAKE BUG / CONSPIRACY WITH RUNES REFORGED

I played against an team that couldn't remake even though their person had never connected to the game. It normally works when you have no items but from the runes reforged she had a stopwatch/magical boots later. I was wondering if because she had the stopwatch it counted as buying an item therefore not allowing the team to remake? It could be something else wonky, but if that's indeed a bug that'd be a big one to fix!
