Not able to play the game (no loading screen)

Since the recent patch I haven't been able to play a game of league yet. Every time I try to join a game I get past champ select but my loading screen doesn't appear. I get that transition screen of black and then it disappears and I get my desktop showing up. The weird thing is it still loads me into the game because after a while I can hear the in game sounds but I can't join it at all. I tried repairing the launcher but it didn't work.
