Beta Client too laggy and not closing when starting a match

The beta client is too much for my toaster to handle but I doubt that because I usually run Killing Floor 2 on Max graphics. And whenever I start a game it doesn't close. Causing me to lose a lot of fps and can't play at all during teamfights.
