Stuck in spectating mode.
I exited out of a spectating my friend's game and found my status still in spectating mode. Most of the UI is blacked out and can't be clicked on. I restarted the game a few time and it didn't resolve the problem.

Fixed this issue for myself, wasn't expecting staffing help. Go into your League folder C:\Games\League of legends\config
When you're in there, delete the fil: LeagueClientSettings.YAML That will solve your problems.
Me to :(((( But i just solve it .. its seems like "quit' button disappeared and we are not able to access it anymore after the next small window appear witch says "u have been removed bla bla"..
Here what u must do to fix it .
1]Close game ,log in again position mouse on the quit button, wen he pop up on the screen .. AND do not move it !!!
2] use alt F4 to close the game window , start game again , log in and keep pressing left mouse button until quit button appear on the screen .

I did it, and now when I try to enter, it starts to repair and after some minutes it says "Repair Failed" and I can´t enter in the game. Can anyone help me please?
at login screen click the gear wheel and hit repair, then login and hit "quit" to leave spectating
it worked, there are heros without cape

Had the same issue on Mac OS, however deleting the .yaml file didn't work for me. Had to re-install the League client to get it working

If the fix that has already been posted does not fix the issue for you (it didn't for me) but thank you. I had to force close the client through task manager it will then bring up a black screen for a second and eventually you will get the option to reconnect to the spectating or just QUIT which will bring you back to the client you are looking for :D
