Picking Next

I have had multiple games over the last couple weeks where I am in lobby and my box says "picking next." the timer counts down on the previous picker to 0 and then i get removed from the game and end up with a dodge penalty. this has happened to me atleast once a day when i am playing. Has anyone else experienced this? any advice or tricks to prevent this?
