Penalized for dodging with time to spare

Now since I wasn't paying attention very well since I wasn't expecting it to happen, this will be short.

I had entered a ranked champion select, and sometimes the client does lag some 2 seconds if I have another task open or if my computer is slow.

But as it got to my turn to ban, I was given around 10-15 seconds before it kicked me saying I failed to lock in my ban or pick.

Now i'm not upset at the 3 LP loss or the 6 minute penalty, I'm upset that this happened in general, and that it could happen in a promotion series or some other time.

It may sound like i'm making this up, but I know I had a good 15 seconds left otherwise I wouldn't be in this situation of writing this post up.

This is probably an error with the client but I would just like to bring it up in case it came up again with anyone else.

EDIT: Well because of a game I actually wanted to dodge shortly after, i'm not stuck with a 30 minute dodge timer when I should be in game, now I'm upset because of the timer.
