So, Jarvan's ult is "impassable terrain". Ok, Riot lets people flash out of it. But why let Kalista's auto-attack hop pass over the wall?
It happened every time I tried it in the ARAM game I just played.

Fondling Gems1 votesYes it is. Impassible terrain is used to refer to any terrain a champ cannot normally pass through, aka walls. It is a term used to differentiate between things like Anivia wall and Karthus wall, one of which you can walk through and one which you can't. Any dash or blink ability with enough range can pass through any piece of impassible terrain. (The dash/blink must go more than 50% of the way through said impassible terrain)
Kalista's passive lets her jump walls of up to (499/599,699) width respectively as she upgrades her boots. (Realistically the range is shorter as that requires her to be on the pixel next to said wall, something almost impossible to do)
You are simply confusing the technical definition of "impassible terrain" with the LoL definition of "impassible terrain" It is a pretty easy mistake to make.
Niyumi1 votesSo, J4's wall is impassable terrain, meaning you can't walk through it. However, you can dash over it (if the ability allows), flash over it, and so on. Kalista can actually hop over small walls with her passive if she times it right, so she can hop out of J4's ult as well.
Lots of champs can just hop out of it, which is why people say J4 is a bit weak (he's really not).
... Imagine a J4 and Poppy together though. J4 ults around the Poppy, and then Poppy uses W in the middle of the ring -- no one gets out today!

What's the point of an ult that can be completely ignored by one champ? She doesn't even need to wait on a dash ability to cooldown, she just keeps doing what she always does - not caring that Jarvan's ult even happened.
Zombiemaster1 votesThere are certain champions in this game that just outright counter others due to their kit, or at the very least counter a certain champion's ability. Counters, both soft and hard, are apart of not only this game but many other games as well, and it's something everyone will have to deal with.
