I dodged 2 queues at once?

I recently was in a queue with a friend when I accidentally clicked the League client shortcut on my taskbar. But instead of giving me an option to close my current client, it force closed it and opened a new one. When I signed back in, I was brought to the main menu, but my friend told me that I was still in the queue. When I tested to see if I could join another queue, I was able to join, but I was still in the initial queue that I had joined, so I closed my client and logged in again, expecting a 5 minute delay for dodging, but was given a 15 minute delay instead. So I guess I dodged 2 queues, but there wasn't anything I could do about it. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a way to prevent it from happening again other than removing the shortcut?
