BLACK SCREEN AT CHAMPION SELECT

I'm guessing this is a bug with windows 10 since it only started occurring after my recent clean installation. The only solution that has worked, temporarily, is a complete re-installation of the League client. If someone at Riot could provide a clear solution to this it would be enormously appreciated since the last time they loaded a base client for download was obviously several years ago.
