LOL not SLI and PhysX Compliant
Greetings Summoners.
I was just gloating to a friend how awesome League of Legends is compared to DOTA and the Warcraft incarnations, then he pointed out something very interesting to me. Warcraft is SLI and PhysX compliant. Now I have a laptop that runs league at 60FPS with the occasional drops to 45 fps when someone casts a spell. Since the team is rewriting the DirectX portion of the client that is currently bugged, how about some serious performance gains by implementing SLI and PhysX? I contacted a representative from NVIDIA and they are more than willing to reach out to game developers, particularly Riot Games, for years now, to implement these features.
New client? Updated interface? The future? I'll believe that when it's SLI and PhysX compliant. Imagine, all the hard work that went in to creating nice spell effects and particle animations, we can actually crank up the graphics and see them, rather than disable them for performance gains because LOL is using only one GPU.
