Can't even get to the patcher?

So I redownloaded League onto an older mac desktop and it still works fine (the desktop I mean), but when I try to launch the LoL app it will show the logo in the center of the screen then the app closes itself without any explanation. I don't know how to even get to the patcher and I just want to play with my friends. item 3070

i had this problem, if you have avast antivirus it treats the client as a virus. you have to go in avast and exclude it from the quarantine

I have read that fix, but the problem is that I don't run avast. This just happens on its own.
