Client Crash in Champion Select

During champion select, occasionally the client freezes during someone's pick and I am stuck unable to pick a champion, type in chat, or see who has picked what/banned what. As simply as possible, the timer indicating the time left for someone to pick counts down to zero and then never switches over for the next person/people to pick, leaving the whole client frozen. It is (as far as I know) impossible to know when the client will freeze so if I am looking at another application I can completely miss that the client freezes until after I have "dodged" resulting in loss of LP, queue restrictions, and leaver buster penalties. The only way that I know that can quickly fix this issue is to disconnect and reconnect the internet connection, forcing a re-log to the client. Sometimes I will never have this problem, and other times it will be as often as for example my last 3 lobbies in a row have frozen. Thank you for any help in advance.
