[Game Client] League, 4k monitors, and Windows 7 DPI scaling

I have two 4k monitors. To be able to use them comfortably, I've set my DPI scaling in Windows to 166%.

When I try to run League borderless with the resolution set to the monitor's native resolution, League displays as extremely stretched across most of my second monitor. Changing the mode to fullscreen caused the game to bug splat. After changing it back to borderless, changing the resolution to a lower value resulted in the game being displayed horizontally centred between my two monitors and with the top of the window vertically centred, resulting in an unplayable window position.

Unrelated, but discovered at the same time, I ran into an issue with locking the mouse to the game window. I think this is probably due to the DPI scaling, but when I put the game into fullscreen mode I could always move the mouse over to my other monitor, regardless of if I toggled mouse locking (F9) or not.

So, to recap, the major bugs are:

  • When DPI scaling is set above 100%, a borderless window is stretched larger than the specified resolution
  • When DPI scaling is set above 100%, setting a fullscreen window to the monitor's native resolution causes a bug splat
  • When changing resolutions using a borderless window with multiple monitors, the window's new position is such that the game is unplayable
  • When DPI scaling is set above 100% and multiple monitors are in use, mouse locking does not work as expected.

If you need any logs or additional info, please let me know and I can submit them.

I have the EXACT same problem:

1st monitor: 1920x1080 2nd monitor: 1650x1050 portrait mode

It ALL changed with DPI bigger:

in borderless window expands into 2nd monitor

in fullscreen it allows the mouse to go into 2nd monitor - basically you cant scroll properly by hitting edge of monitor

Its EASILY REPRODUCIBLE; its a bug - shoulda been fixed ages ago!!!!

The client also augments size and so the fonts, but that's fine, the other results aren't, it's a bug, its not possible to play with DPI higher than usual on windows.

I've been having these problems as well, glad to know it's not only myself plagued with these issues. It doesn't look like there will ever be a fix for this, at least on windows 7, sadly. item 3070
