[GAMEPLAY]- Ping higher since season started?

For about the past month I've been hoping to see my ping drop back down. It used to be maybe 90 tops if there was someone else using it, but now sits over a hundred all the time. I also have random games where its sitting over 150 the whole game, for no reason. Nothing has changed on my internet, and the 150 ping is not every game, just every few. My boyfriend, me, my ex, my whole group of friends who play, and a few other people I randomly know on league have all had this problem lately. Our pings are just higher now than they used to be. It occasionally causes lag problems, and this has killed me or denied me a kill more than once now. I'm just wondering if maybe there is something wrong on Riot's end? Because nothing changed on mine and it's not just me. I can't provide a detailed list of how to reproduce this as it just... happened...
