Client Freezes in Game

So ever since I downloaded the recent patch, the game randomly freezes and I can't do anything. I can't even go to my task manager to shut the game down and the worst part is, the game works fine for like the first 5 minutes of the match and then starts freezing up. I've run the corrupt repair program from the login screen, reinstalled league, checked my drivers, cleared my RAM, and turned off my firewall to test, and it still consistently keeps happening. It's really becoming a pain and I don't know what else to do. If someone can help me I'd really appreciate it.

I have been having this issue as well. For at least a month off and on. I can restart my computer because I have two monitors but even task manager cannot close it. I ended the processes but it doesn't leave until I restart. It does not happen every game but can happen multiple games in a row. It only does it once per game if it does happen. I'm not sure if can even create a dump file. It's become annoying and makes me not want to play anymore.

Happens to me too. Been a consistent problem for over 2 weeks now. I have a gaming computer and have never had this issue before. Tried everything I can think of to fix it

it happens to me to.. i hear a windows sound and then my lol freezes.. i have two screens so i can move the mouse to the second screen but if i open the task manager it opens behind lol so can't see what what opens up and i am forced to restart the computer..

Did anyone ever find a solution for this? It's happening to me too, at least twice a day and I got a leaver buster for it. I have a gaming PC and my internet is just fine. Someone help

Is this bug section a joke? Last reply is from 6months ago and seems like many people have this problem. I bet most don't even bother to come to forums and write about it. Is anyone going to take this seriously or what?

I have this problem now for the last 2 patches and i cant figure out a solution. Please someone tell me how to fix. But at least i am able to shut down the LoL task with my Task Manager.

This is happening every single game i get into. It will work for the first 2 mins and then freeze. Cant even open task manager to close the game. I can move my leagiue cursor but i cant do shit after. This is sooo frustrating. Im getting leaver busters and its not even my fault RIOT DO YOUR FUCKING JOB AND FIX THIS ISSUE!!!

This is happening to me too. Only, get this, two different laptops! I just bought an Alienware and thought it was defective, took it back, 2nd laptop same issue! can anyone help?

Hey there,

It would be great if I could get a memory capture of the game when it's in this state. First, please make sure you're not in fullscreen mode. This'll make it easier to capture the dump. When the freeze happens, you should be able to open up Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), select the League of Legends.exe process (note: this is "League of Legends (TM) Client"), right-click and select "Create Dump File". Upload this to your favorite file sharing website (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, whatever is convenient) and share the link here.

I had the same problem. Freezing anywhere from 1-10 mins into a game. Full computer lock up. Riot support asked me to clean install. Now it freezes 1 min after the client opens. Full lock up, forced to hard reset. All other games work fine

Same thing happening here, game freezes and I have to do a hard reset. Using the same computer that has worked fine for me before, I've updated drivers, reinstalled League, etc. Please fix this issue!

I will DC randomly within the first 10 minutes of the game.. LOL freezes and when I open the task manager nothing pops up.. I cant force shutdown the application.. The only solution is to restart CPU or log off and back in.. Seriously this is an issue for lots of people.. FIX THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This happens and has given me a 10 minute leaver low priority queue. Not only is this unfair, its infuriating. It makes me consider quitting the game. Before I've put in a request and a CSR basically told me it's my fault because my computer must have some problem. Unfortunately for riot my computer is fine. The problem is with the client. I run 2 monitors. Leave task manager open in the one that isn't playing league if you are using more than one and you'll only lose about 3-5 minutes.. but that still basically guarantees a lost match.

I talked to one of the employees at Riot and they helped me fix this issue. If you go into the properties of your league client.exe and turn off compatibility mode in the compatibility tab then it should fix things. Let me know if this helps :).

still waiting on a fix..been happening all over for every game, becomes more likily the longer the client is open. literally cant play ranked because team fkin ints if you dc and have to hard reset

Hi riot, I have a issue, when I play a normal or ranked game, at 32 or 33 min, my client is freezing. After that I have to close the client and to wait to reconect and usually the game is lost because I was afk when I try to reconect. Can I do something for that?

See, this is the thing that pisses me off! People are going through the same issue, but instead of focusing on trying to fix their client, RIot instead wants to push out new champions and new skins. Like they don't give a damn about this in-game freezing issue. Their Player Support is unreliable as well. I talk to them for an ENTIRE week and they tell me it's gotta be something wrong with my computer. I know that's false cause I just got the thing and it's 100 custom made. Can't play in Practice Tool without this freeze happening. But does RIot care? No. Will Riot make an attempt to fix this? Probably not.

Yeah man same here having it for a long time, started at mid of season 8 and It is really tilting I tried everything and I can’t find any possible solutions and I don’t think it’s my computers problem but in order to fix this I might as well do a whole factory reset to my computer and hope it will fix it
