I'm getting an issue that won't let me open the League client. It reads: C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\libcrypto-1_1dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000020.

I have gotten this error before, reinstalled the game, then it worked fine for a little bit. Then this happens again after I close the client, so I reinstall again. The error disappeared for about a week then this came up. I don't want to waste another hour reinstalling the game, can someone please fix this issue or tell me how to fix it without having to reinstall? Thanks in advance, Pugish

EDIT: I have found a temporary solution. I compressed the LoL file into a zip file (after I reinstalled the game and it had no issues), and made a copy. (c: --> Riot Games --> League of Legends) Naming the copy "League of Legends-copy his" so that I won't forget that that was the copy. Now, whenever the game stops working, I just delete the LoL file I was playing on and copy the "League of Legends-copy this". rename the copy back to "League of Legends" and it works again! Overall it takes about 10 minutes total to delete the original copy, and re-copy the game. Way faster than the reinstall that takes 1+ hours.

****This is happening to me to! This is the first time after this update... I have reinstalled 4-5 and got another problem (Pvp.net patcher Kernal has stopped working). I ran as administrater and i got into league. Then i download the new client and press launch then i get this issue again. This all started after i went into a draft and had to leave in the middle when my internet turned off. I was having trouble with my hole pc after that so i unstalled league. I had trouble getting on the website at first but finally got league installed, i had the Pvp.net patcher Kernal has stopped working and ran as admin and it was fixed. I pres launched and i get the same problem as you guys! I have reinstalled many times need a fix! If you found a fix Msg me on discord @LanceOLot#4315 __

Same issue. After the last winfail 10 update the dll stopped working (apparently). Not sure whether Rito or MS fucked that one up. Given that it was after the Win 10 update i believe it was on the laters end. edit: the hextech tool cannot fix this

Alright, found the solution: 1: download the hextech kit and completly purge lol from your system with it 2: reinstall from scratch
