Hey all, we recently began to address an issue where players had there game freezing 5-10 minutes into the game as seen on this thread. We addressed the main source of this issue, but there are still some edge cases that could result in this problem occurring even after our initial fix.

If you are still encountering this problem, following these steps will really help us out in tracking down the root cause.

  1. When the issue occurs(IMPORTANT THAT IT IS WHEN IT OCCURS), open up task manager (ctrl + alt + del, and then select task manager)

  2. Right click the process that says ‘League of Legends (TM) Client’ and click ‘Create dump file’. This will take a few moments.

  3. Copy the link and navigate to the folder. For me it looks like this: C:\Users\acohen\AppData\Local\Temp\League of Legends.DMP I would want to go to C:\Users\acohen\AppData\Local\Temp\ in windows explorer

  4. Go to https://www.filemail.com/ select ‘Send as link’ (next to send as email towards the middle), and click the Add Files button. Navigate to the DMP file from above, and then click ‘Send’. You will be prompted with another window, where you click ‘Send’ again. (This will take a little while).

  5. You will be provided with a link, which will lead us to the file you just uploaded. Copy/paste that link in this thread.

I'll be paying attention to this thread and updating it as we better understand the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for bearing with us.

Hi, I'm having this issue but I'm unable to get to my task manager to create a dump file because when it freezes, I can't alt tab out completely. My taskbar shows up but league stays on top of everything else and doesn't minimise. About 5 times in the last 3/4 days it's frozen a few minutes into the game, nearly always right after the first wave of minions meet. At the moment my only fix is signing out, signing back in and reconnecting, but at that point I'm usually 6 levels and 60 cs down, it's getting really frustrating. I ran full repair in the client and it doesn't seem to have helped.

When my game freezes I can't click anything at all I have to hard restart my pc and when I get back in game I the team remakes and I had have leaver buster because of this reason.

Hello everyone,

Like a lot of you I've been having this issue as well BUT I have stumbled across a simple fix, I open the folder for League of Legends then open the subfolder config then delete the game.cfg file before every match. Simple enough just leave the folder open and re-delete the .cfg file before each session =) For the moment it works for me.. Thought I'd share in hopes it may help others =)

(During the game, at around 8 minute, I experience a weird kind of crash problem. Every key in my keyboard lags. For example I press Q the indicator appears (e.g. ekko's Q) but the ability will take same time to fire (2-5 sec) When I press Tab the window appears but it will last so long (even when I am not pressing it anymore), covering the map. So I don't see anything for a while. When I press B, it takes some time to recall too (like 2 seconds). When I use the arrows to navigate it takes time too. So I only use the mouse. Even when I am typing a message in chat, it will start to appear after a long time, and it will appear too slow, (like 1 letter per second). So the only thing I can do during this time, is moving arround with the mouse and farm with auto attacks, cause doing something else like casting an ability or a spell, will probably get me killed due to the time it requires. This happens approximately at 8 minute (or sooner) and it lasts approximately 5 minutes, and then everything works fine. I have been experiencing this problem the last 2 months. Before everything worked fine I hope you read this. I will much appreciate it if you could somehow help me.)

I've been having this same issue for around 2 months now and when I sent the support a ticket they told me to use a low config file they sent me of the game even though I'm pretty sure its not my pc, its just this issue occurs only in leauge at 8-11 minute mark everything freezes for around 5-10 seconds my screen goes black. fps drop to 2-0 and I can't press anything...I can't get that file asked for either when the issue occurs Can someone update us?

Hello, I've recently bought a new computer and have been getting this sort of situation. My game freezes after 12 minutes into the game, takes about 5 minutes or more to get out of the freeze and will continue to freeze every 30 seconds, if I close the client and reconnect, the freeze will happen after another 12 minutes into the game and repeat itself. I unfortunately cannot get back to the my desktop nor does Task Manager pop up over league and alt tabbing doesn't minimize it,so I have no way of making the dump file as the freeze occurs. The only way out of it is either wait out the freeze or sign out of my computer then sign back in.

Hello Riot Afic, it is I. So when the servers came back I decided to play a few games and the problem was still there. Of course like a strange sickness, it started off with just very small stutters in the first game up to the point where everything I tried to do had a delay to it in the last one where I got the DMP file for ya.

I hope it can help figure out what the issue could be, for everyone suffering something of the sorts.

i found solution. just go to league of legends game client, press settings in right conrer (left from close button X) in the general tab check the "close client during the game". the client will be turned off while u play and after the game it will turn on. it worked for me and now i dont have lag and fps drop during the game!

can't open the task manager. everything just freezes its getting rly annoying i got two pcs one att my dads house one at my moms the one at my dads house works fine even tho the pc at my moms house is better pls fix this

The same Problem , after 5-10 min Fps 0-2 not able to move mouse or use Keyboard not able to back to Windows. can only restart my PC and Reconnect to Game. than i stay ~ 30 minions and 3 lvl behind All since Last Patch

I have same issue. It ranges from minute 5-15 its usually minute 8 or 11. but depends sometimes happens on 6 and once at minute 15. it always freezes for 15 seconds give or take. Even tried to do clean instal of League. Nothing changed. https://fil.email/Qg8cIfDg

So im having this problem for a few months and it freezes my game between min 6-11 and it gets me to 1 fps sometimes even to 0 fps, after that the game runs normally, im having a good connection it can't be about that. There is some solution:

I don't know why, but this worked for me, I found it on some other forums.

In game go to OPTIONS/VIDEO, there is Windowed mode. Set Borderless or go to C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Config open game.cfg find WindowMode and change it to WindowMode=2

I've tried many solutions, but only this definitley works for me (random FPS drops from 120 to 0 at ~5-10 minute mark of each game)

I normally don't write on forums like this, but this problem was so annoying... I hope it will help some other players.

had the issue for awhile now talked to riot support twice and nothing seems to work. the game crashed on me again last night. at least it wasn't ranked but still frustrating. i have done a clean install of both my graphics drivers and reinstalled the game and it doesn't fix anything.. here is my most recent ticket number that is still currently open #34975208

I love your game sooooo much.. im pretty sure it helped save my marriage. Now to save my sanity! Every game between 5-10 min my computer freezes for about 2 seconds. I cant move the mouse or anything. Then it will go back to normal for the rest of the game. Seemingly at random, once every few games (sometimes twice a game, but rarely), screen freezes with Windows error beep sound; application is not responding in task manager. Alt-Tab works, but not visually; the in-game frozen screen stays on top. Temporary solution to get back in game faster: set task manager to always stay on top (in options) so that you can terminate the process and reconnect ASAP.
