Today I started the client. It started to load an update, but nothing happened after that. Several other tries would not load any of the client files. Rebooting does not solve the problem. PBE does not load either. i do not want to reinstall the program. The most likely scenario is that your update messed up my system. Please, fix it.

The client update that started before the problem appeared, modified the following 5 files in the Riot Client directory:
RiotClientServices.exe Foundation.dll rCrashpadApi.dll vgrl.dll system.yaml
My guess is that one of them must be the problem.

The system temporarily loads the LeagueClient.exe and LeagueCrashHandler.exe files, but then it removes them.

SOLUTION
RiotClientServices.exe was the problem. You can fix it as follows:
Move RiotClientServices.exe out of the Riot Client directory
Start your League as usual. It will start without Riot Client, in the "old way".
Sign in. It will tell you that it needs update. Just continue. Once you are in, just exit the Client.
Start League again. It will start to install the Riot Client as new. Once finished the problem is fixed.
You can sign in now through Riot Client.
