Dark Star Thresh Hook [CRASH]

So while playing Jinx, 5v5 ranked, I was against a Thresh and MF with a Gragas as my support. I didn't have any issues with lag or otherwise, my game would play perfectly fine until Thresh would cast his hook. No matter where I was, even if he didn't grab me, as long as it was in my screen vision it would crash my client. During fights, while in a different lane and just watching a fight, etc. I was able to reload in every time without issue but any time I would witness Threshs' hook it would crash my client again. My concern is that, this was ranked, and although I explained it to people I'm worried that I was probably reported for feeding. Added bonus, I was in my promo series. First time I've ever had this big of a bug issue. Should I re download my client, or is this happening to a few people? No one on my team seemed to have this issue, or the opposing team for that matter.
