[Gameplay] Why did my q not work?

I was playing a PvP game as Vi, and about half way through the game (out of nowhere), my q just stopped working. I tried pressing it dozens of times, and nothing would happen. It would make the noise like I had pushed it, but she wouldn't charge up to release it. I tried resetting the button layout to default to see if that would work and it wouldn't. I first noticed it when I was trying to get away from the enemy team, and to my surprise I couldn't get away.This was up towards top by blue buff. From what I gathered from the game from asking the other players if they had a way to fix it, a Teemo said they've experienced the same thing (as Teemo). They told me that it usually goes away in the next game, but I don't want to have to wonder if my q is going to work in this game or the game after. Please help.
