[CLIENT/LAUNCHER] First login fails, second login works, every time!

This is a bug that MANY people have reported MANY times, but I think I'm the first to actually do a video for it. Some people report they need different number of attempts to successfully log in, but for me it's always 2.

EDIT: this issue has been fixed via a hotfix patch released by Riot. Please stop posting replies on this thread.

I think Ekko is to blame: every time someone tries to log in, he ults and takes you back to where you were 4 seconds earlier.

Is there any info on what the cause of this is? For me it's only started happening recently (past 2 weeks).

Exact same problem. Every damn time. Past two weeks straight. Maybe we should all submit support tickets and flood RIOT Support team with questions about this so they will actually notice. I'm not sure they look at these forums frequently.

I'm having the same issue. The first loving always fails and the 2nd one works.

I just posted a thread about this but what seemed to work for me is switching my server to EUWest, it will install anther couple patches, switch back to NA, restart patcher. Haven't had that pesky connection error since I did it.

I've had this happening for months for me, but the newest patch and before it seemed to include the same results.

Also having this issue since the last patch. Daneithon's idea didn't work for me.

Same here. It's been happening since release of latest patches. Client shows a connection error message after first attempt; after clicking Ok game quits. Second attempt works and logs in. It's kinda annoying to deal with this. Rito where are you? summoner 3

4-june-2015 Update:

I updated my client today to 5.10.15_06_03_16_09 and my first attempt logging in worked. Game didn't show connection error. I'm queuing to test if client won't crash after I finish every game. Will keep you updated. item 2043

15-june-2015 Update:

I updated my client to 5.11.15_06_05_17_09 and I was able to login on the first attempt but the game would crash every time a game ended. Updated OSX to Yosemite and re installed the game from scratch (downloaded installer and re downloaded game completely) and this fixed all of the client problems. summoner 6

Follow up to Riot:

I have run this through wireshark and have filtered network dumps available for you guys if you're interested in the requests that are failing.

It's been happening to me too, a little bit before the Ekko patch. First time I log in, connection error. 2nd time works. Not sure why, tried disabling peer to peer and running it as admin, but both don't work. Hope it gets fixed soon!

Well I fixed my issue, Not sure how, did a repair and nothing worked, so I guess you could say a forced a data corruption, which made my client download and repair some files. Since then everything has been working faster. Logs in first time in a snap. I can't outline steps on how I managed to have a data corruption error, but this is what fixed my issue. same here, its annoying when you get the too many people logging in at once and then u reach the end of the timer and u have to restart! item 3070 item 2044

I'm having the same problem every time I try to log in. Sometimes it works the second time, sometimes it takes 3-4 times. The first time I ever saw this issue was about a week before 5.10 came out.

This has been happening for a while.

I'm not sure if Riot is aware of it.

I'm on my 5th attempt to log in and I just received the connection error again.

I think a 3rd party may be intercepting all my log in requests or something.

I just downloaded the game and want to play again, and my first impression has been brutal.
