Really annoying opening bug (Mac)

I've had this really annoying glitch occurring for the last few months now, while the bug doesn't make the game unusable, it does make things very annoying. If i have the league client open and I close it, I can't reopen it after. When i attempt to launch it, it just duplicates itself on my hot bar and doesn't do anything, and if I hover over it I am told that it's not responding. The only fix I have found is to restart my computer, and it gets REALLY annoying to have to restart my entire computer just if I want to do something as simple as switch accounts. Please assist.
