Soraka's ult doesn't give assists
Hey folks,
I wanted to tell you that whenever you ult with Soraka (or only in some cases) to save your mates on the other lanes, you sometimes get no assists on that if they kill something. :s

I've witnessed this several times, and from what I can tell, you get no assist if it didn't heal them at all because they were at full health. If you buff them from Ardent Censer I think you'll get the assist from that regardless of if the heal did anything, though.
Basically, don't cast it just for an assist, especially if they are full health already.

If your ally is full HP, then 
ult will not grant assists.
I THINK its intentional. Otherwise, she could ult just for the assist. I think the same argument was made for TF's ult.
you do though? like i play raka a lot, and i almost always get assists from it? I'm not sure what flukes you get that would prevent an ult assist, but as long as you heal them or proc 
or something on them, you should get an assist.
Maybe the assist timer ticked out? that's really the only thing i could think of that would prevent something like that.
i mean, i've gotten an assist with a j4 jungle because i healed him before he teleported to a ward behind their top and ulted under turret. that was with nothing but the normal heal, so i don't get what would cause the assist prevention other than a time-out of the assist clock.
but i dunno for sure. i can play some games later and figure out if there's a cause for it.

Are you kidding? I teleport all the way from top lane just to save you with a shield from the duel you knew you wouldn't win and what do I get? A long walk back to top lane.

This sounds like a glitch. I ult for assist frequently with Raka. Perhaps the "assist" timer timed out. Meaning you ulted too soon, and the fight dragged on so you ended up not getting the assist?
I get assists from across the map with Soraka whenever I use her. I believe that it doesn't give an assist if they are at 100% health when you cast it, as since you didn't heal for anything you didn't actually "assist" in killing the opponent. Always wait for the battle to actually begin, and heal them in the middle of it. It throws enemies off big time, and earns you assists.
