Series loss?

I was just disconnected during champion select (due to my stupid cat) and I received a loss in my series for it? Please let me know the fairness in this.

This is my 3rd attempt at getting gold in the last few days, I definitely don't need any help losing guys. I have had plenty of players who are questionable if they should be playing ranked.
