Zed's [R - shadow] sometimes fails to copy zed's Abilities

After I activate Yomous GhostBlade, I ult Yasuo and get hooked by thresh, I decide to shadow slash and ignite thresh then switch places with my shadow at the bottom of the screen leaving my shadow behind. I then throw my shuriken which is visible at the bottom of the screen but my shadow at the top doesn't do anything.

It's unknown how to reproduce but has happened on multiple occasions.
