Keyboard locks up, then game crashes back to Mac login?

So I've been having this issue where every 5-10 games my keyboard will become unresponsive (can't cast spells, ping, type, etc) and then the game will crash to the Mac login page, like the one when you are entering your password to login to the machine, but it is acting like you are still in game and can't put your password in. This has caused several game losses for me and is deeply frustrating, does anyone have any idea what causes this bug? I am on a mid-2014 MacBook Pro running macOS Mojave 10.14.3
