Abilities Broken / Client Restart / Loading / 20 Min Wait

I entered a game, went to lane, only to figure out my abilities would not work. I tried multiple things like turning quick cast on and off. But it didn't work. So I restarted my client to try and fix, thought it would only take a second, like usual, I told my team I would be right back. I opened League back up and was stuck at the login screen. It was been loading and reviewing all of the games files, thousands of them. After that it started "Updating Interface, Step 1/2". Meanwhile my game is still going on and I'm not there. After 20 mins of waiting for the login screen to load, I was finally able to join the game again and play, my abilities were working also at this point. This was on the new client by the way, which I dislike, it always seems to have a bug. This was one of the must frustrating things ever. Just wondering if there is any fixes or anyone else has had this happen.
