My Client wont launch , please help!

I can't get to the log in screen , the patcher comes up and lets me click launch but then...nothing happens , ive tried running as admin and removing and re inserting a certain file ( i forget which one) but nothing. Im on windows 8 , any help welcome the sooner the better! Thanks for your time!
