Game Lagging but Good Internet?

I hopped into my second ranked game of the day today, with my first having no problems aside from a little lag in the beginning (most likely due to my computer starting up) but my second game I'm able to move but no animations show. I restarted the client, checked my internet speed, and reconfigured my adapter but to no avail. I can still move in the game but I can't do anything as I can't even see where I'm going. Speedtest tells me there's nothing wrong, and the internet is working fine.

Edit: Here's another player experiencing the same issue as me. It's not my internet but Riot connection:

I'm having this exact same issue. It's packet loss in Riots end i think. I can stream anything multiple times over and not lag, my pc runs every game no problem but i constantly DC from games (i can tell because it resets my character into the spawn point) and it's playing like i'm on 5k lag even though everything reads the standard 60. HELP RIOT.

Running tests to servers that aren't the one you're having an issue with won't tell you anything except that your connection to that particular server is ok. You need to check the routing to the game servers and also for packet loss.

Please head over to the Connection Troubleshooting Log Reader. There, you can submit the Network logs from your match(es) and the log reader will show if you were having ping spikes and packet loss.

It will then will direct you to solutions. Please work through the solutions it suggests, and if you need assistance or they do not work post on the Help & Support board and we'll try to help.

You can also narrow down the source of latency or packet loss by downloading the WinMTR Network Diagnostic Tool, then use that to run a traceroute to the following IP (allow this to run for 5-15 minutes);

I mean my ping is always 30-50. Think its 50/50 both though since charter is a dog shit internet company. Could be your upload speed as well. Some people think dl speed matters but if your upload is suffering you lag as well.

Hi Guys.

I might be too late on this, but maybe it will help others with the same problem. I was experiencing the very same things as was put forward in the comments and the above post. When I pinged 8.8.8.8 ("ping 8.8.8.8 -t) in cmd, I would see that every 6th ping would have an ms of 2.000+ going from around 30ms. I tried all the suggestions and the troubleshooting techniques listed by Riot. Nothing helped.

The solution for me was simply to UPDATE the firmware of my router. Once it was done and it had rebooted (which it did automatically) everything was fine. I've seen multiple people having this problem without finding a solution - perhaps it is due to the exact same problem; the fact that the router is "outdated".

  • Note: You will most likely be able to acces your router through www.routerlogin.net. When you go there, you will be prompted for a username and a password, which most likely will be "admin" and "password".

I hope it works for you guys! Best regards
