Syndra E not stunning

Multiple times while in a game as Syndra last night, I would use my E to knock a sphere back, the sphere would hit enemies, would damage them, but would not stun them. None of the champions hit had any CC immunity, nor was there a message stating that they had CC immunity. The stun was simply not being applied. Every time was beyond the range of the base part of her E.
