Client crashing in Champion Loading screen

This seemed to start happening right after the mini-update in the middle of the 4.20 patch. After champion lock in, there's the usual window closes, the League icon shows on the screen, a blackout, and the champion splashes are supposed to show up along with loading progress.

Instead, the screen stays black, and eventually there's a notice that the client has crashed. Reconnecting and retrying doesn't fix the problem. You have to completely quit the application and rerun it.

Note: this happened on and off before, but it's much more frequent now. I have to reset and rerun every other game because of it.

This problem has also happened to me. I had to Restart my modem and restart the client for it to let me in to the game. After the game i got a warning from leaverbuster because i was disconnected the first 10 min of the game. It also prevented me from spectating a friends game.

Also getting this now. Never had it happen before. It's giving me firewall and connection errors even though my internet is fine and firewall is unchanged since yesterday. This is only happening post-4.21

Edit: Opening as Administrator seems to be a temporary fix, at least for me.

I just got this. Had to reboot my computer, and then it took another two tried to connect. Leaverbuster whined about me standing still too long. Kinda felt like rubbing salt in the wound.

After the game the client refused to connect to chat, display ANY of the screens and yet LET ME ENTER QUE. I cancelled right out, cause I know something isn't right, I just wanted to see what the client would do. "Be a stupid" is what the client would do, apparently.

Same thing happening to me. It crashes in the middle of loading screen and stays in 0%, it wont let me minimize it or do anything, it just sits there on 0% for hours. Cant do anything except restart computer and try again, then same thing happens. At these point i'm looking to re-install and see if anything changes, pls... fix!

This just started for my after I got patch 4.21, Ive played a few games and it happened. restarting helped at first but now it wont load at all no matter how much i relog my client.

Funny how this always happens after patches. Same problem here. Never experience any problems till patch.

This is also an issue I'm experiencing, where some matches I'm able to connect, but others I cannot. I've already been considered "Leave" on 3 games because of it. How are we unable to connect to a match, but all these other people are?

I am definitely having this problem and it is so frustrating.

Also I don't think I've had a single game today where there wasn't at least one dc.

I'm having a similar issue every game I've tried to play I load in and can't move and have a constant attempting to reconnect above my head please riot fix this

So I'm having this issue as well, at first I thought it might be the hotel's internet I'm staying at blocking the connection and all that. I've been trying to find a fix for it and attempting to load into custom games so I don't get reported, but I have yet to succeed. I tried to spectate a game just for the heck of it and it let me in successfully, so now I'm starting to question if it's the Hotel's internet blocking the connection, or if it's a patch issue.

Note: The patch came out when I checked into the hotel and I was able to download it without any problems (Also a reason I'm unsure). I'm also able to stream youtube and other websites as well.

Fixes I've tried: Hotspot Shield Run As Administrator Run In Compatibility mode Restart Computer Repair

I'm having the same issue but nothing I do seems to fix it. I've restarted everything (computer, modem, router) tried running as admin, all firewalls turned off and still nothing. So now not only can I not get my first win but I also am going to get a warning because their stupid game isn't working. So if you read this riot, get your crap together or you've lost me as a player willing to spend actual money on your game.

This thing has been happening to me and I'm getting annoyed i cant play a game without join 5-10 minutes in.... I thought it was just my toaster computer but i know now its just riot. :(
