Friends list not showing and also game kicked me out

When I opened up the league client i noticed my friends list not showing up but I could still start a match. So i went into a game and none of my chats in champ select came up. When everyone had picked a champion, it brought us to the loading screen then said I couldn't connect. I tried closing both league and the client, restarted my computer, and looking for any other help. Could someone give an explanation?
