Smite Cooldown Timer

This has happened to me a lot and it can give the enemy team a huge advantage. So we go to dragon, and I look at my jungler's smite cooldown timer in the Tab window. It says it is up but is up to 20 seconds off. This has given the enemy team an advantage through steal in numerous occasions. Plz fix
