Renekton can't use sheen

I decided to try and use trinity on Renekton as the 150% extra auto attack on top of my W would be about the same as 4 1/2 hits. However after testing the proc, the damage from sheen does NOT apply with my W. I tested on both minions and champions, and the damage was the same with or without the sheen proc.
