[CRASH] Error closed client after champ select ; "oof. the game failed to start"

Earlier today around Noon ET, I was attempting to play a RANKED game and after all champs selected and error came up. So the game did NOT start and was forced to restart client. further was not able to reconnect so the session must have closed for all (i.e. no game actually began ; just wasted out time going through the motions). The exact message read: "Error: Oof. The game failed to start. Give the client a restart and buzz support.leagueoflegends.com if this comes up again." Has anyone else experienced the same?
