Client Freezes The First Time You Open It Up and Join Champion Select

Every time I start the client, everything is normal. I join the queue for a match and when I am supposed to enter into champion select, the client freezes. This is very, extremely annoying because I can't call my role or I might even dodge because it is frozen. I am using Windows 8.1.
