Client Crashes during ranked (draft) champion select (Might not be the only one)

I've been getting off my lazy ass and doing my ranked exhibition matches, and have a pretty good record so far. Trying to finish my last match has resulted in several instances of being sent back to queue during champ select - after 4 instances of this, my own client crashed, so I can only assume this is what was happening to the other players as well. Any/all feedback is appreciated.

On a very much related note, will I be penalized other than the 5 minute wait if I'm not officially in ranked leagues yet?
