Client not allowing champion lock-in

How is this still a problem??? I've seen posts going back 2 years for this bug and it is STILL HAPPENING. Select champion in queue, try to lock in, nothing happens. Timer counts down and kicks you saying, "Failed to lock in champion". Then I get a dodge penalty and lose LP. It literally happens at least once every handful of games.

Seriously Riot. Take a week off releasing new skins or whatever it is you're doing and actually fix your buggy client that keeps punishing players for your own mistakes.
