Champ select Turn Skipping?

So Basically, I was just in a ranked champ select, 3rd pick on blue team. When it comes to my turn, the sound goes off to pick, my screen flashes and then my screen reverts to a state that makes me think I've already locked in. The red lettering at the top of the lobby said to wait for my turn, the lock in button was gray however and apparently I insta-locked on nothing. The other guy that was my same pick had the same bug, and then it kicked us for not selecting a champion at the end of the turn phase (which appeared to be the persons before us but in reality was ours and it skipped us.) I've never heard of this happening but if it is a new bug, I just wanted to bring it to Riot's attention so I could hopefully not lose more LP by forced dodges.
