Alternative to closing league of legends

So I have this problem where sometimes when I get into game and it freezes, I can't alt +f4. I mean I can press it, its just not gonna change the screen. It most definitely will close any other programs besides league of legends, however league of legends will stay at the unchanging (usually black) screen. I used to use task manager or the windows key as a way to get out of the screen and close it afterwards, working 75% of the time, however I don't know if its because of a new patch, but they no longer change the screen. The only solution I've found is to either shut down my computer entirely, or press ctrl+alt+delete then sign out and try to sign back in and reopen league. By the way, alt tab doesn't work either. I'm sure there is alternatives that I am forgetting, please help me.

Reason why I'm saying this (Rant that can be ignored): I've gotten 3 leaverbusters 20 minute queue for this and a lot of my friends are experiencing the same problem. I feel like this can't really be blamed on us if its the fault of a new patch. Our drivers are already updated to the most recent version and there is no addressing anything in the blue ! that pops up during the client. Riot Games offers the advice to "stop playing games before the situation is resolved" but I feel like this is a half-assed response. Most bugs or problems are usually easy to solve and sending a report ticket takes forever only to get a what is most likely or what feels like an automated response that doesn't address all the issues. League of Legends have a constant problem with bugs and challenger players just ignore the bugs , even though one might lose from them. This is because they know that its not worth to fight with Riot Games when they take forever to respond unless your Faker or Rather Uzi, considering Riot is now owned by a Chinese company and Uzi is the new hyped player.

On a side note as I'm righting this discussion, another bug popped up where I can't even log in to the game, it immediately pulls up a blank screen when opened, skipping past the "L" loading screen. Good thing I'm reinstalling League anyways.
